Today was my first session learning how to shoot on location. We were taught how to use the Sony Z150 with a Rode shotgun mic. We learnt about white balancing, testing sound levels, focusing and setting aperture. We were then able to go away and practice recording. This means I can now hire the cameras to practice and use for my own work. It was really fun learning how to use an industry standard camera on location as I only have previous experience with a DSLR. It was also really interesting to learn about sound because this is often not focused on but it is so important.
