SCALES | Pilot
Pilot episode for crime drama 'Scales'. Made by Birmingham City University School of Media students Meg Thackray-Howard, Thomas Hope, Lizzie Swannell, Oliver Harris, Eva Skaljak. Rufus and Dean move from their rough town of Luton to study at university in Birmingham in an aim to change their lives and escape the lower class background they were born into. However, everything quickly starts to go wrong after they blow all their student loans during freshers and have to resort back to the only way they know how to make money - dealing drugs. Their problems only escalate as they get involved with the notorious 'Birmingham Bad Bois' and quickly find themselves owing the gang more than just money. The series follows the boys' struggle of balancing university, love, money and addiction in a fast paced violent modern commentary on young people's lives as they are intertwined with drugs. With the gang, police and their future all hanging in the balance, can the boys level the scales?

Chew Valley residents have been doing some rather amazing stuff, helping them to stay positive under lockdown.
